Next to duplicating keys installing, re-keying,  and repairing entry locks is one of the most common task that a locksmith does.  Special care should ne taken when drilling holes to install entry lock.

Remember once you have drilled the hole there is no turning back.  If you make it in the wrong place you have ruined the door.  The old saying measure twice and drill/cut once is the best plan.

One sure fire way to make sure you don't make a mistake is to use an installation jig.  The jigs cost from $100 (used) to $300 (new) however, replacing a door due to a mistake can cost you $500 +.
